The German Lindner Group is investing BGN 100 million in the Lozen Park complex and Bulgaria’s first private science and technology park, Lozen Tech Park, located within it. This step marks a significant expansion of the company’s investments in Bulgaria.

BGN 20 million of the amount will be invested in two new buildings for the technology park and accompanying infrastructure such as amphitheaters, parks, and playgrounds. The remaining BGN 80 million is earmarked for the third phase of the residential complex,“ said Rosen Plevneliev, President of Bulgaria from 2012 to 2017 and Chairman of the Advisory Board of Lozen Tech Park, during an event today, quoted by BTA.

Lindner’s investment comes on top of the BGN 135 million already invested in the Lozen Park project. In the coming years, the total amount is expected to reach BGN 400 million.

A city within a city

The entire Lozen Park complex will consist of 15 buildings, essentially forming a “city within a city.” The project consists of three main components: a technology park, a residential park, and educational and sports infrastructure.

It is based on the concept of a “city within a city” and a “city of short distances,” where residents will have easy access to all necessary amenities. “This will be a place where people can take their children to a German school, play sports, work in the high-tech park, and live comfortably in the residential areas,” Plevneliev commented.

The ambition of the creators is for Lozen Tech Park to become a magnet for Bulgarian and international technology companies, research units, start-ups, and universities. It will house research and development centers, as well as offices of large and small companies, including a development center of the Lindner Group itself, which will work with leading global architectural studios such as Foster + Partners and Zaha Hadid Architects.

The first two buildings of the technology park and the German school are expected to open in September. By the end of the year, the next phase of construction of the Lozen Park residential complex and two more buildings in the technology park should start, with a total investment of over BGN 100 million.

The German player has been operating in the country for the past 30 years, investing over BGN 700 million in various projects, including Bulgaria’s first business park and the Residential Park Sofia residential complex.
