SOF Connect, the concessionaire of Sofia Airport, has signed a long-term agreement with the international company TAV Operation Services (TAV OS) for the construction and management of two new business lounges at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
The new facilities are due to be completed and open to passengers in early 2026, as part of the airport’s strategy to modernise and improve service. The partnership runs until 2038.
Premium services with a new appeal
TAV OS, a subsidiary of TAV Airports and part of the French Groupe ADP, will invest in a complete redesign of the waiting areas under the Primeclass brand, which will present its new, cosmopolitan look after rebranding in Sofia.
The Terminal 2 lounge will cover 990 sq m, including an open terrace with a panoramic view of the runway and a smoking area. Its capacity will be 130 visitors. The Terminal 1 space will be 440 sq m in surface and will accommodate up to 125 passengers.
The two lounges will be accessible to passengers from all airlines and will offer a full range of amenities – from business areas and relaxation areas to a children’s corner, a bar with local and international cuisine and high-speed internet.
We are delighted to partner with an industry leader like TAV Operation Services, which has extensive experience in managing premium lounges around the world. This project is an important step towards the modernization of Vasil Levski Airport – Sofia and achieving a 5-star rating,“ said Jesus Caballero, CEO of SOF Connect.
Part of a long-term transformation
The construction of the new business lounges is part of the large-scale investment program for the transformation of Vasil Levski Airport – Sofia, which includes digitalization, improved energy efficiency and sustainable development.
Since the beginning of its concession, Sof Connect has announced the implementation of a number of infrastructure projects, including the construction of a new photovoltaic park, a new terminal, and new solutions for intelligent traffic management.
According to Aude Ferrand, CEO of TAV OS, the new lounges in Sofia are a pilot project for the next generation of Primeclass spaces, where the focus will be on contemporary design, functionality and a personalized experience tailored to the needs of the modern traveler.
