Carbonsafe – the Bulgarian leader in soil organic carbon measurement

Още от същото

Undoubtedly, Europe’s main priority, both in recent years and in the near future, will be the reduction of its greenhouse gas emissions.

This goal also includes the creation of a low-carbon agriculture, which is entrusted with the difficult task of storing more carbon in the soil instead of accumulating it in the atmosphere.

This method, known as carbon farming, and the achievement of ambitious European goals are impossible without cooperation and the joint efforts of all parties concerned to achieve a shared green future.

In order to help in these global efforts and to lend a hand, the Bulgarian company Carbonsafe OOD offers sustainable solutions for farmers that not only reduce the carbon footprint but also improve the quality of life of local communities.

This enterprise ranks among the leaders in Europe in the measurement of soil organic carbon, using its own methodology for measuring sequestered carbon and offering sustainable solutions for farmers’ activities.

From models to real measurements

While traditional carbon balance modeling relies on predictive calculations, Carbonsafe stands out with its methodology based on direct soil analyses.

The company uses 100% soil sampling methods. This scientifically based and innovative approach allows for quantitative measurement with the highest levels of accuracy, making Carbonsafe a pioneer in the field.

This ensures not only greater accuracy but also transparency and credibility of the data, which is of key importance for companies and investors in the voluntary carbon market.

Transparency and traceability

Carbonsafe works with a system where each measured cell in the field has a clear and verifiable value. This means that each credit can be traced back to the exact field where the carbon was sequestered (“trapped” in the soil by roots, plant debris and microorganisms), enhancing the transparency of the process.

This increases confidence among carbon credit buyers as it provides them with full traceability of the impact of their investments.

The CRCF framework is a standard marker

The company’s carbon credits are also in line with the latest European requirements set out in the Carbon Removal Certification Framework (CRCF), which came into effect in January this year.

The European Commission’s framework has imposed strict criteria for the certification of carbon farming activities. Carbonsafe implements these standards, ensuring that the carbon credits generated through the company’s practices meet strict criteria for quality, transparency and traceability.

The future of the carbon market in Europe

Earlier this month, the Bulgarian company took part in the second European Carbon Farming Summit in Dublin, Ireland, which focused on the expansion of this activity in Europe.

At the event, Carbonsafe ranked among the leaders shaping the face of carbon agriculture in Europe.

One of the main conclusions of the summit was that European countries are increasingly adopting this type of agriculture, which aims to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere and increase their presence in the soil.

The event also touched on the new CRCF criteria, shaping up to be a key element of trust and transparency in the field of carbon removal.
