A total of eight companies participated in the public tender of Mini Maritsa-East for the construction of a photovoltaic power plant complete with batteries for the company’s administrative building. The project is worth nearly BGN 400,000, and the companies’ bids were opened on June 10. These are Resonas EOOD, Gama Solar 1 EOOD, ST Kliner EOOD, MAT OOD, Prostream Group EOOD, Er Edn G Projects OOD, PM Electrical EOOD, and Tral EOOD. The price offers they have submitted for the contract have not yet been published.
The green project of the state ministers provides for the construction of a 120 kWp photovoltaic power plant and an electricity storage system with rechargeable batteries with a capacity of 200 kWh, as well as a monitoring and control system. The contract specifies that Mini Maritsa East will use the electricity produced solely for its own needs and will not feed any surplus into the electricity distribution network.
The participant must design, supply the necessary equipment, carry out the construction and installation works, as well as provide author’s supervision during construction. The deadline for completion of the project is six months after the signing of the contract.
Due to a sharp decline in coal production, which has caused serious financial difficulties for the state-owned company, it is unable to pay the project contractor on time. The mines have therefore added a clause to the contract allowing them to extend the payment period from 30 to 60 days.
Again due to financial obstacles, another clause has been added, giving the client the right to unilaterally terminate the contract for up to one year by giving prior notice to the contractor.
The development of a solar power plant with a battery began with market consultations at the end of last year, and in January, four companies submitted indicative offers, but in the end, none of them participated in the final tender. The prices they offered at the time varied significantly, ranging from BGN 480,000 to BGN 340,000.
